Question by : Any advice for someone entering the dating scene after a two year hiatus?
Hi I am a 25yr old woman entering the dating scene after taking a 2 yr break. I kinda forgot how to date:) any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I’m 30, don’t try and date -just try and meet people generally, join clubs, go out with different people -ask around at work other girls for coffee, chat to people..just as you start to have fun a fella normally shows up out of no where, guarenteed <3
If you try and be proactive by asking guys in the pub it kinda sets you up on the wrong foot -men like to do the persuit, join the gym, join a book club, have a good time

Why don’t girls understand that dating advice for a guy is different because we have to do the chasing most of the time.

marriage. always seeking advice, but I find it rather odd that they turn to the Single lady who hates being single for relationship advice. what do I know about marriage, other than what I’ve observed throughout life. maybe it’s just the type of friend I am–listen and don’t judge or take sides. anyway, to all you married folks, do you have any Single friends you vent to regarding relationship woes?

More than likely it’s because you give great and useful advice. Moreover, you not being in a relationship really makes you more experienced and wise about the whole “boyfriend-girlfriend” topic. I’m not in a relationship, but everytime my best friend and her boyfriend is going through problems, she will always come to me for help. Also you may be the “parent-friend” to your friends, you know… the true one.

I can give pretty good advice about dating, but I don’t really know how to flirt pretty well or ask a girl out properly. I was rejected the first time I asked a girl out. And it takes me quite a while to actually ask because I always ask myself, “What if she says no?”

Same. Give good advice, but i’m bad at taking it… here’s what i would do.

1.) start a really nice conversation with her.
2.) after you’ve been talking to her for awhile, ask her if she would like to hang out with you sometime (but try to refrain from using the word date!).
3.) if she says yes ask her what she wants to do, and then go w/ her.
4.) if things go well then keep talking to her and hanging out w/ her, and eventually ask her out. but just give it some time…
